I need to run a couple fans on my tank for cooling over the summer. I'm running T5's on the tank so I don't need a chiller but the temp hits about 82 over the summer and down to 80 at night. Does anyone know how to make a controller to kick the fans on when temp gets to high. I would like to keep temp at 78 like it is during winter. Last summer I just ran them when my lights were on but temp fluckuated to much. Any help would be appreciated.

IDK about making one yourself but the reefkeeper lite which just came out is pretty inexpensive for a controller. Might be worth it to just buy that for $150 instead of going through all the hassle of building a controller which will probably cost you half as much in parts alone.

are they pc fans?? i have a pc fan controller that has 2 temp sensors & you can set it to control 4 fans. each fan can be programmed to come on at a different setable temp

....haven't decided if i'm gonna use it on my build or just set them on a timer to come on a hour or so after the main lights come on & go off an hour after lights out
