DIY food recipes?

Hi, I'm new to the whole saltwater everything. I am currently kept by a mated pair of Clownfish, and 4 snails. My question is this... is there a recipe I can fallow for clownfish food? I mean I grow my own veggies for my Uromastyx, breed my own rats for my Boas, mix my own food for the rats, squish the fruit for my geckos and add the vits/mins myself. So can someone tell me what I need, how much I need, for my Clowns? I know they are omnivores, so I'm looking for 1 or 2 recipes. Preferably 2 so I can mix up their diet. The food I currently have for them was given to me from local pet store, in unmarked bag, and looks like Betta pellets. Thank for reading my post.

Respectfully,
Betty Mae

I chop up seafood very finely (think half the size of a pencil eraser at largest). I generally mix some vitamins (selcon) with it and add a bit of phytoplankton which is totally optional. I use:
shrimp
scallops
clams
saltwater fish
squid
brine shrimp
cyclopeeze
rotifers

If you can find any other seafood, that works too. Fresh, never frozen, right from the supermarket. Rinse them well first to try and wash away any phosphates. If you can't get rotifers or phytoplankton, it really doesn't matter. You can add spirulina and small pieces of nori also if you want. Get creative.

after you chop them up, freeze them in baggies. Lay the baggies flat so they are only 3/8 of an inch thick. Just break off a chunk when you want to feed.

Great advice from NirvanaFan. I do basically the same thing. I do buy some stuff from the LFS to add in with it. Stuff like krill, mysis, and reef caviar (fish eggs). Cyclops is great for their color. I also add vitamins like selcon, or one of the other manufacturers product. The recipe changes every time I make it though. I figure variety in the diet is a good thing.

Thank you both for your replies, I totally appreciate it. How often do you feed them this mix?
