Is it possible to temper glass at home using a standard oven or is there something special about it? What I'm thinking is for DE pendent reflectors

Thanks.

Can your oven go to 600 deg C ( 1112 F. )?

Stu

Hahaha that's pretty funny :)

Save yourself any more time and energy and just buy it if if needs to be tempered. Some things are just not DIY worthy.;)

I dunno if you DIY the oven then you'd have a place to make great pizza!

Bean; just make sure you have a reeeeeally flat bottom in it so you can do glass tempering on week nights.

:D

I'd like to do the same thing Bean. I built a ~4' firepit in my deck when I built it. The pit is nice but really takes up a lot of space and is inconvenient when a lot of people are here. Been toying with the idea of a fireplace/oven off to the side.

I did have a website where the guy defeated the lock on a self cleaning wall oven which is what prompted my comment... If I remember correctly he lined it with fire brick and it looked pretty effective for pizza.

!!!Turn your volume down before you look at that link...:eek2: !!!

Had a pizza from this guy outside the OSU vs Michigan game a couple weeks ago:thumbsup: The pics show the wood fired trailer oven he was using.

Guess this is a little OT but since we're not going to temper glass...:D

I'm waiting for the opening of Bean's Micro Brewery to compliment the pizza oven.

Darn, I just made myself very hungry AND thirsty!

I just got (well LASTG x-mas) a 11' stainless sink/drainboard at Construction Junction for my brother's basement winemaking area. Once we get it installed, I do plan on doing some pilsners and pale ales.... The pizza oven will be in the spring (along with a firepit for the new deck 500sq/ft deck I just built). I wanted the firepit in the middle of the deck, but ran out of time and skipped it.

Will you be shipping the pilsners?
