DIY MaxiJet Stream (Pic Intense)

killer

I put my prop on the shaft and used a dremel sander disk. turning the prop slowly to do both blades evenly. I ended up cutting mine down to about 7/16 on each blade and it runs smoothly.

tgfrench, How did you attach the prop to the impeller? That's my weak spot and I've had it break there a couple times during testing.

I used a 4-6 minute epoxy and it is working great for attaching the prop. I did trim down my maxi and it is currently working. I just figured that it would have worked at least with the 1200 but it wouldn't work without being trimmed. It has been running for approx. two days. I am going to try this with a larger pump, I wonder what the tunze props look like I haven't been able to find a picture yet.

I drilled out the prop with a 3/16 bit and used a rigid plastic tube 3/16 the inside dia fits the SS shaft nicely then i notched both the tube and the mag assembly to lock together and then slipped a piece of heat shrink over it. ( cut a small groove or flat spot on the mag ***. to lock the heat shrink into other wise it will want to spin at that spot.

I have a proposition, I have three 3ft pieces of 308ss. My brother uses it for welding. Anyonew interested in making one of these mods for me in exchange for some cheap stainless steel.

Ive tried and tried but i cant get the thing centered and i also cant find the right prop. I might also be able to get some more if anyone else was interested for a fairly low price. Thanx

I couldn't find stainless steel, but I did find carbon fiber rods at hobby town. Anyone know of any reason carbon fiber wouldn't work?

i have found some props but cannot find the stopper the only props i could find have brass nuts. Any suggestions on where to get a suitable stopper as i have purchased two props with brass nuts.

A little concerned here..no word from Wayne in a couple days, not like him. Hope you and your grandfather in particular are okay Wayne!

Pleae help to identify my problem with this mod:

I have the ss glued into the rubber stopper then the mag housing then the impellor glued onto the larger tubing then the prop glued into the smaller tubing which is glued into the opposite end of the larger tubing (originally i glued the prop onto the ss, but then i took it apart and unglued it so now it is not glued...but maybe sticky) then the ss is inserted into the red cap (not glued) which is pushed through some acrylic. the two ends of the acryilic are superglued to the pvc. My intake holes are similar to wayne's design. my prop is spinning but the output is nothing like the movie or what other people have been claiming to get. I put this on a 400 and on a 600, same results on each. Where am i going wrong?

just finished my maxi-mod and from the bucket test it works great. the only problem i have is that i am using galvanized steel instead of stainless. does anyone know if the galvanized steel would be harmful to the tank?

tailored, i would check and make sure that the prop and magnet spin freely on the ss rod. if it does you can pritty much rule out the stickyness.

Don't glue the SS rod and if you have any on there all ready clean it off. The SS rod is only there for a bearing surface for the magnet and prop assembly, therefore, stationary. One thing I did do that I've not heard you address is the amount of thrust pressure the props put on the magnet assembly. I found moly washers to put on the pressure side of the magnet assembly.

yes i have no washers did you use two? i looked at HD and they couldn't find any nylon or plastic washers.....and the pressure side is the side closest to the stopper and opposite the impeller?
