How do you know the flow coming from the modded maxijets? Have you measured it somehow? Just curious as I've not yet seen any experimentally determined flow rates from these pumps.

To determine waterflow.

We ran the Mod in a aquarium of water and had the output of the mod inside another empty container.

We time how long it took for this container to fill then did the math to find out the GPH.

We did this test many times just to make sure we were on the right mark.

The mod is machine balanced and is within tolerance.

Lutz-

You might want to try using a plastic bag instead of an empty container, this way you can rid the plastic bag of any air and the pump won't be fighting against any kind of backpressure. Tie a knot in a small garbage bag, then cut open a corner for the pump outlet to go. You can then siphon the contents of the bag into a suitble container for measuring. I've done this with Tunze Stream 6100s and found them to produce 2500gph.

Just a suggestion.

I just got some of Lutz kits and they are great! They are well made and everything you need is included. He definitely put a lot of work into these things! I didn't need to pick up one tool to install everything and it works great and puts out a very nice amount of wide flow.

Yes, as long as you don't do anything radical, like using it to create surfable waves :lol:

I got my kit from Matt/Lutz493 a few days ago. The quality is incredible.
Even if I had the skills to make my own, I could never turn out this type of end product.
In addition to looking great, they also move a LOT of water.
