DIY Power Center Help

I want to build a Power Center but I have a few questions ...

I have been following directions from this thread,

The power panel that was used was from American DJ

but I want to use a power panel made by Chauvet as seen below, http://www.chauvetlighting.com/system/fixtures/pc08.html

Will the one made by Chauvet Work?

From reading the thread I basicly need to wire 8 Home Outlets to a 3 prong extension cord and then plug each extension cord into the back of the American DJ/Chauvet Power Panel and then plug the Power Panel into the wall. Am I missing something???

You are just making extenstion cords with "duplex" recepticles instead of regular single device ends. The DJ units are only acting as switches for the extension cords. So "any" dj switch unit will work. Just make sure it is UL listed and outlets are rated at a suitable current.
