Just an update. I don't post often but my 8 gallon nano is still going strong. I started this tank for a few reasons. One, was to keep my hands wet after selling off my larger reef allowing more time for family and my side business. The second reason was to run this tank as an experiment of sorts. I was hyper focused on my larger reef faithfully testing my water, changing 25% weekly, skimming etc. it was just too much in the end and that caused me to have to get out so that I could have more personal time.
In this tank I don't do any of that. I tested my water a few times when I was cycling and then never again. I have no skimmer and only do a water change about once every 3 months. I top off with RO/DI that I make here but for water changes I use store bought salt water. The only test I occasionally perform is on the water change water with my refractometer to see that my salinity measures 1.026.
