Has anyone had experiences with both a tank w/ sandbed and one w/ barebottom such that they could say that Acro RTN seemed to occur less with one?
(I realize that there are so many factors that contribute to RTN & that any answer to this is merely speculation but I'm curious anyways.) Although I don't think it to be the intial cause of RTN, I've always suspected that my sandbed (& the sediment that occasionally gets stirred up into the water column) helps speed up the coral's demise by introducing scavenging micro-flora and secondary infection.
......On a side note, wouldn't it be nice if all those nasty war-fare chemicals that corals emitt into the water were visible to the naked eye (also ich for that matter). It seems like there is an invisible war going on all the time and all we get to see is the RTN ending.
