do all carpets get big?

I might wanna try a carpet but My tank can't handle a 12" carpet. Also do they stay on the sand bed?

all host carpets get big.

and i believe that only haddoni lives in the sand i might be wrong though.

All three clownfish hosting carpets can get bigger than 12" across.
Gigantea max out at about 20", haddoni ~ 24" and merten's can get more than 36" across.
