I do, but not at the moment. Been GFO-less for about 6 months now. There are nuisance algae all over the place but still not too bad.

I voted no but I do use it when needed. If it is needed I run it passivley in a fliter bag and throw it in the sump. I do have a reactor for it but never used it yet.

Based on fish load and feeding habits, I have to run a large amount 24/7 to keep phosphate at acceptable levels.

I do use pura in a reactor. The stuff works wonder for me. In less than 48 hrs my po4 went from .1 to zilch, nada, ocho whatever you want to call it. Albeit I've only been using it for a month or so thus long term effect is something to be seen.

I use GFO in addition to dosing carbon and it appears to help keep phosphate low. My tank has no issue with nuisance algae.

I use the BRS dual reactor for GFO and GAC. When I just relied on a carbon source I still had slight issues with phosphate so I tried using GFO and it really has made a huge difference with _my_ tank.

BTW, I use the BRS GFO pellets.

Thanks guys, glad to know that.

I have never had phosphate issue and never used those, and I thought the SPS crowd are annal about keeping phosphate below undetectable for growth, apparently not for everyone.

Absorption is not the same as adsorption. Algaes absorbs nutrients while stuffs like GFO or carbon adsorb (bind stuffs on their surface).
