I voted no but I do use it when needed. If it is needed I run it passivley in a fliter bag and throw it in the sump. I do have a reactor for it but never used it yet.
I do use pura in a reactor. The stuff works wonder for me. In less than 48 hrs my po4 went from .1 to zilch, nada, ocho whatever you want to call it. Albeit I've only been using it for a month or so thus long term effect is something to be seen.
I use GFO in addition to dosing carbon and it appears to help keep phosphate low. My tank has no issue with nuisance algae.
I use the BRS dual reactor for GFO and GAC. When I just relied on a carbon source I still had slight issues with phosphate so I tried using GFO and it really has made a huge difference with _my_ tank.
I have never had phosphate issue and never used those, and I thought the SPS crowd are annal about keeping phosphate below undetectable for growth, apparently not for everyone.
