Do conches eat macroalgae?

Whether it be a fighting conch, queen conch, strawberry conch, etc...

I'll have macroalgae on the rocks soon and I wouldn't want it to go on the rocks and nip away at halymenia or botryocladia or even gracilaria.

Would it be better to just get a bunch of dwarf ceriths or nerites instead of a big conch? Macroalgae compatibility wise.

They probably wouldn't eat Halimeda (it's hard to eat) but they will eat a variety of macroalgae species.

I have a lot of conchs and the ones that have access to macros do not touch them. They do however eat nori and like it.

Just realized this is an old thread but still good info for someone maybe.
