We use them for bait for blackfish. That's one of the best places to find them too. I don't know if they are reef safe since I have always had a FOWLR, but I kept them in my sump to eat uneaten food. They can escape from almost anything. Probably not something you want in your tank since they can be aggressive feeders.
Asian shore crabs are very destructive. That is a large part of what makes them such a troublesome invasive. Other crabs likely to be found in the same area are green crabs, mud crabs and stone crabs, to name a few. All would be trouble in a reef
And I dont want to admit that it finally dawned on me to lower the net with a piece of food in & he climbed right in the net whereas I couldn't get the net near him:rollface:
