Do crabs eat zoos?

i have had some hermits pick at my GSP ( Green Stars Polyps ) I tossed him in my FOWLR tank.

I dont trust hermits... Keep a close eye on them.

Small hermit crabs are safe, but any other crab your likely to find under Ponquogue is going to be trouble sooner or later ;)

hmm I'll get a picture when I catch him I'm gonna put him in the ref. I still haven't got it hooked to the tank I'll have to read some DIY plumbing threads

I can almost guarantee it's probably an "asian crab".

We use them for bait for blackfish. That's one of the best places to find them too. I don't know if they are reef safe since I have always had a FOWLR, but I kept them in my sump to eat uneaten food. They can escape from almost anything. Probably not something you want in your tank since they can be aggressive feeders.

Asian shore crabs are very destructive. That is a large part of what makes them such a troublesome invasive. Other crabs likely to be found in the same area are green crabs, mud crabs and stone crabs, to name a few. All would be trouble in a reef ;)

And I dont want to admit that it finally dawned on me to lower the net with a piece of food in & he climbed right in the net whereas I couldn't get the net near him:rollface:
