Do I Have Enough Light?

I just ordered 3 sps corals. they will be my first. Two bird nests and an ORA Acro. On my 55 gallon tank i have an 8 lamp 432 watt light system with ATI bulbs. will this be enough to grow these corals and will this be enough light to grow all spa corals? thanks

I think it's more than enough. I'm just using 8x39watts on my 105 gallon with sps. Don't you get a lot of heat with 432watts on a 55?

I'd seriously consider hanging your fixture high! Assuming you have some sort of well-built fixture, that is A LOT of light for that tank! Be very careful with light acclimation!

What model fixture do you have? If you have a PM or SP you'll be frying the tank.

i have a sun tech and without a heater or chiller it keeps my tank at 78 in the summer and about 76 in the winter. I have not yet had problems with to much light. But thank you for the suggestions and i will be careful with the acclimation
