Do I have too many fish ?

So in my 65g mixed reef tank I have 8 fish:

- Pair of Ocellaris clowns
- Diamond Watchman Goby
- Neon Goby
- Springeri Dottyback
- Bangaii Cardinal
- Purple Firefish
- Green Mandarin

The only reason I ask this is because my clowns pretty much stick to their Hammer coral and even my cardinal keeps to his corner because he is very non social. I really want a fish that is really colorful and will swim all over the tank. What do you think?

I say do what you think is right for your tank. Don't let others run your tank they don't know it they don't look after it and they don't have to look at it everyday. If the tank and is inhabitants are healthy then keep doing what your doing if on the other hand they are fighting or dying off then you now know what your limit is for your tank.

I agree, that you could have another fish, and yes a wrasse would make a nice colorful addition that would swim all around the tank

I like the bluegreen chromis, they're a pretty color and they're all over the place. Some (my husband) would even call them neurotic, so if you don't want REALLY active fish, don't get those lol

I have five fish in my 60 gallon tank and I think I'm maxed out. Remember, your rock can only support so much waste. Overpopulation is asking for algae and cyano problems or worse.

True, but, if you have a sump, fuge, skimmer, algae scrubber, mangroves, chaeto, dsb, biopellets, etc, you can get away with more, and im not saying that OP has them, but you could have more fish if you have extra filtration, not just rock

you could possibly get away with another fish so long as you have proper filtration, ie: sump, skimmer, etc...) I wouldn't do anything big though, and find something that will get along with the others. Also, three of the fish you have are sand dwellers so you should have ample space in the water column.

Pygmy angels are always a good choice as they (with my personal experience) swim around and are fun to watch. My Coral beauty I had was a great fish, never bothered corals or anything (kept it well fed). Colors were great too.
