Do I need fish in a Zoa Prop tank?

i would throw in a variety of wrasses. they will pick through your colonies for nudi's if they ever happen to get in the tank. also a coral banded shrimp are awesome. they will hunt down and eat any and all bristle worms

The green coris wrasse is the one that definately eats nudis, some say a 6 line will too. I have a 6line and haven't had any nudi problems since she moved in.

I took the fish out of my frag tank. Only reason was whenever I would take pictures (I take them top down) the darn things would swim all around when I wanted to snap pictures making waves in the water making my pictures blurry...

It's worked out quite well as I also have lots of lords and micro's in there. Without fish all the mysis shrimp are taking off and ALL over in there. I see the mysis swimming by and getting snagged up all the time by the lords and micros so they get fed well all on thier own.

But other than that I think a 6 line or some other wrasse is a perfect candidate for a frag tank.

i never had any luck with a 6-line wrasse doing anything for me. he wouldnt even touch the small flatworms on the side of the glass or any of the pods :(

any wrasse will probably do. just make sure it doesnt have teeth. if they do, and do find some treats hiding in your zoas, your zoas will get ripped to shreds.

Not all green coris will eat nudis. I'm not trying to debate, just cautionary! There is no guarantee on anything.

I tend to keep a tang in my prop tank (tub) to take care of algae that otherwise begins to sprout. Ofcourse that requires a bigger tank.
