Do I need to Quarantine my first fish if the tank is empty?

Hey guys.

Still new to this, but I took some advice I read on here and started a Quarantine tank in addition to my main display. The Quarantine tank has since begun its cycle and has maybe 2 weeks left. My display is fully cycled and the rock fully cured. All levels in it are good and it is ready for fish. My question is, do I need to quarantine a fish if there is nothing else in the display? I certainly plan on quarantining any new additions in the future, but if the tank is empty do I still need to quarantine?

Thanks guys!

Absolutely. It's not the FISH you're protecting, it's your sandbed. Ich, in particular, nests there between fish. Don't let a possible carrier into that tank.

yup, Always QT for just as Sk8r stated. I would also do TTM as a fish may be carrying Ick and not show signs of it during QT. But I am a little overly paranoid after losing a tank to Ick.

TTM (see the sticky!) is very good advice, easy and fast to follow...given two small tanks.

Or even 5 gallon buckets if pressed for space. And it is only 12 days and the fish should last for years.

I also treat 2 times with PraziPro during TTM
