do inverts carry ich?

has anyone had any corals or inverts carry ich/ velvet into their tanks. Ive heard that although inverts dont get ich they can transfer it to your tank when they expel any of the contaminated water they came from. I typically inspect inverts before acclimating them to my tank but never quarantine them only fish.

There was a thread on here a few days ago where he added a coral that brought velvet into his system and wiped out all his fish.

Ich parasites can attach to inverts, but can't feed off them like they do fish, so as far as I know they can't perpetuate their life cycle, but can carry Ich. There's always some risk whenever you introduce something new to your tank that was in another tank. That's why I and many others quarantine everything.

Can't prove it. BUT........
Did 72 days fallow and TTM plus QT on all my fish. Re-added fish and all was well for 2 weeks. Added a starfish from Petco and 3 days later another ich outbreak caused me to break the tank down and star over.
YMMV.
