Do Not Drill Glass!?!?!?!? Hurry Help

Who makes the tank? AGA/Aqueon and some others temper the bottom only on some sizes but its best to find out from the maker if its just the bottom or the whole tank...Drilling into tempered glass can be bad.

Most tanks bottoms are tempered, but the sides arn't. Check to make sure though.

Not always true as AGA/Aqueon didn't temper the bottoms till 40 or 50g sizes. I have a few 20s and 29g here that have all been drilled on the bottom. Some tanks like the Walmart ones have been known to be tempered on the sides. Thats why its best to call the maker and verify or get some polarized lenses and do the test to see.

I have never heard of that make of tank but with all the people here on RC I`m sure someone has..

There is a kind of filter that will tell you if tanks are tempered glass or not. Does anyone have that link?

Its something to do with polarized lenses and I was just trying to find it as its a recent post that been updating..

No, you can't drill tempered glass, it will shatter. The glass shop near me will not even attempt to drill it.

Check the other side of the sticker. I have a 55g that had a sticker that read "Tempered glass do not drill " on one side and on the other side it read "Bottom panel is tempered for strength and durability do not drill".
