Do not try this at home

unless you have multiple tanks that you can use to separate these animals

2 pairs of A.chrysogaster (have been together for a year or so) and a pair of A.nigripies (they have been in this tank for 2 weeks) in a 90G.

glad to see someone with a respectable amount of experience daring to mix pairs in a single tank. The ultimate in clownfish taboo. I have been keeping several pairs together for the past year + also. Recently combined a rediculously complex group of clowns into a single 120 gallon. 3 weeks, so far so good. In fact, they seem to have settled into a peaceful community. I found that lots of anemone seems to limit aggression between the different pairs. I have 4 pairs plus 3 stragglers with 9 anemones to choose from- 3 haddon's, 3 ritteri's , 2 small LTAs and a pizza.

How do you have the tank set up? I can see a haddon's in the pic, but the clowns all seem to be hanging in the big Sinularia. Is that their preferred hangout?

Two haddonis, two mags and a pizza :)

does each pair have a single anemone they call home, or do they switch off? Mine definitely have staked out their own anemones and don't stray too far except at feeding times.

It works. But over time there will be wars. More often than not the wars resolve themselves with nipped fins and hypertensive owners. I had a thread around here a while back.

My female Nigripe was the meanest clown I owned, she regularly tore up a three inch gsm female when they roamed across the tank.

I lost all three pairs in Hurricane Rita. There were three actively breeding pairs in a 215RR. All with seperate anemone homes. Sigh :(

Beautiful fish Marina. I'm guessing the pizza is adhaesivum?

Wish I could score Nigrips again...Congratulations

Any spawning activities yet?

They are a disfunctional family. All of them are cleaning sinularia atm

Thanks for the kind words about the setup, everyone :)

Do the Chryso ever utilize the mags or haddoni ?

They suffer from ADD. At first, all four roamed between mags not paying any attention to hads. Then, they decided that haddoni are "it" (of course after nigs wanted those for themselves).

Back to cleaning sinularia.
