Do rock anemones spilt ?

Can/will a rock anemone split ?

I've had a green rock/flower anemone for 6-7 months now and its gotten pretty big over the months...

I'm just wondering if it'll ever split...

it hosts my cleaner shrimp, lol

I don't believe that they will split, but I have had one reproduce in my 10G. Just after I put it in the tank, it spit 4 little marshmallow looking things into the sand. They slowly crawled around until they found the rockwork and seem to be quite happy now. The adult is about 4" across and hosts 3 sexy shrimp. The babies are about 3/4" across now and are all a different color.

interesting, I've had my rock anemone now about a year and he is pretty large now, good color etc.. I feed him once/twice a week and its doing great, I was wondering if it'd ever split, My cleaner shrimps host him along with a red mithrax crab.... It'd be cool to see a couple babies..

I have no experience or knowledge of E. crucifer(Rock Anemone) dividing in captivity or the wild.
