Do the Avs have a chance against the Stars?

The highest seed always gets the benefit of playing the lowest seed. So, if Detroit is out (#1) and Dallas (#2), the next highest seed plays Edmonton (#8, since they would have beaten Detroit) and the Avs (#7) get the highest after that. Make sense? Sucks being at the low end of the totem pole.

I spent a minute and tried to figure you who that would be. If everything finishes like they started, from what I can tell it looks like we would be playing the Sharks. But it is the NHL and I'm sure someone will come back from 1-2 in the series. As long as it's not Detroit, I will be ok

I will say it again, Theodore stinks. I think it's time to put Budaj in and send a message. Why oh why did we trade for him? I guess there will be a game Sunday.

You may be right, hawkfish. He certainly isn't stealing any game for them. I don't think I'd put Budaj in quite yet, at least not for three goals over two periods. Look at Turco. They aren't pulling him, and I'd have been tempted after the first three games. We'll see.

Bummer on the game. What struck me about this one is that the Avs did not do the big forecheck that they used in the first three games. Because of that they didn't get the turnovers and Dallas spent a lot more time in the Avs zone. The Avs did have a lot of good chances that didn't work out for 'em. ***Shrug*** I guess we'll see on Sunday.

My nerves are shot after that game. Hopefully, Theodore can build on this one. I don't like the fact that we gave up quite a few shots those last two games. The D need to get better.

Okay, so here is the playoff calculus. If Calgary wins, Calgary plays Edmonton and the Avs play San Jose. If Calgary loses, San Jose plays Edmonton and the Avs play Anaheim.

Ya, if Calgary loses, all 4 top seeds are out, I don't think anyone could have predicted that. Personally though I would rather play the Sharks. So even though I hate Calgary with a passion, I want them to win. With the way Edmonton is playing I think they can handle Calgary in the next round. I say Avs vs Edmonton in the end.

Oh, man. I really feel sorry for Calgary. They worked so hard to win the division and just sputtered out.

Anaheim with their rookie goalie Friday or Saturday. WITH Konowalchuk. How do you think they'll re-configure the lines to work him in? And an even more burning question: do you think having Konowalchuk back will re-kindle some of the fire that Turgeon was showing before they got hurt?

Avs now have a ligit shot at the cup. With the teams we have had since we started we should have 5 or 6 cups. I think the AVs can pull it off this time.
