Do you all use a phosban reactor or phosphate reactor?

Just wondering if you all use these reactors, i have never used one , but am thinking of getting one to help with algae growths or out breaks... Slowly upgrading the system.

I'm only using a bio-pellets reactor. I had huge hair algae problems for more than 2 years. I am not good at often maintenance, so GFO didn't work for me because it takes rising, monitoring, changing, etc. The bio-pellets is almost set and forget: filled it up with bio--pellets, then every 3-6 months clean its pipes & grills. Oh, mine is hooked up on the main return pump, so I don't have an extra pump to clean.

What worked to get rid of algae for me, was to basically leave the tank alone to consume all the nutrients :). I helped with aggressive skimming, bio-pellets, refugium & pulling out hair algae from rocks. Other than that, I kept the livestock as it was, I didn't add much other than a few snails & crabs to it, I made sure not to overfeed and to use good RO water when doing water changes. In about 3-6 months I suddenly noticed that the algae doesn't grow much on the rocks, then it completely disappeared from main tank, being eaten by fish & CUC.

I've used a phosban reactor for several years now in my reef tank. If you use good media (I order mine from Aqua Cave) and change it out every 6 months it seems to be a small cost for something that really helps stabilize my system.

The main algae issue that I have had is with bubble algae, usually I don't see much other in the tank. Just did a big swap so used lots of new water from the hose so hard tons of mineral and algae food in it. My wife hates my RODI says I waste way too much water :( even though I bucket all of it and use it to water the yard. I do expect mass algae bloom from using all this new junk water.

I have read a bit about much better coral growth by use of Phosban reactors lowering the phosphates in the system...
