Do you allow yourself to use bare hands in the tank?

I wash my hands before I go in my tank but if I need to move livestock I wear latex gloves from a surgical supply store... No powder.

I used to go bare handed, but my skin has become sensitvie and I seem to get a rash on my wrists that would burn like no tomorrow with the salt. Probably better all around for me and the tank.

When I first got into the hobby, never use gloves. My hands began to develop rashes, red spots, infections, etc. I started using gloves, never had anymore problems. I use these rubber gloves that just goes above my elbows. They are a problem when working in the tank, but IMO, better safe than sorry. There has been many threads in this forum with photos of some very bad infections on people hands..

Close to 8 years now and still no gloves.altho i have been bit by some unseen creatures in the past.but no damage to me.

I use Gloves when I don't require a lot of dexterity....such as siphoning.

But If I need to mount a frag or arrange some rock I go barehanded.

I do scrub my hands and arms down with baking soda beforehand though....not sure if it does anygood though.
