Not really, I think they are 100's of better looking fish than a Gen Tang. Maybe the beauty is perceived in the rarity, who knows.

They have a very sleek, sharp look to them, IMO. Very modern. Certainly not as gaudy as many other tangs.

Me too, if they kept juvi colors (ie pure black). Not a fan of that discoloration of bluish/grey they get down their back.

A store near my home (switzerland) as received about fifty !!! And they are not so expensive !!!

They are an interesting looking fish but not $3000 + interesting. IMOP the purple tang is so much more attractive.

I like the way they look. I am not a fan of the blacks. I really like my Scopas, he changes colors so often it is just....on my gosh! I plan on getting a gem tang when I set up my 600 gallon. But till then I will just dream.

In French, somebody who eats like a "goinfre" is eating a lot... very fast.... and sometimes a bit dirty....
Can the expression "eating like a horse" be similar ?

I think they look nice, but IMO there are much better looking tangs. I definetly DON'T think the suck

I too like the blacks but I have to say that the Shoals, PBT's and AT's are my fav's (eventhough they're not rare and expensice )

The yellow tang looks better than a gem IMO. For the life of me I cant understand why anybody would pay that kind of money for a so-so looking fish.

Yes, that's the one. I wish the same was true here in the US. Usually they are about 10 times more expensive then say a yellow tang. Definitely not close to the gem tang, but still expensive.

I'm not trying to judge people or anything, but I sure don't see that they are that beautiful to merit the price. I think it is the thought of having a fish that is so rare and hard to get that makes people fork out the money for them. If they were 40 bucks a fish I don't think people would be waiting on lists and actively looking for them.

I'am samy's friend and actually it's my gem tang.

I buy this fish not because he was rare or expensive but just because I love him !

And to speak about price, I pay it about 250 $... not cheap but really chepaer than in US !
