Do you think this Ballast is ok

Newbie here. Just received this with my Aqua Medic light (2x250 MH plus T5s). Is this some cheap Ebay Ballast (I know nice ground) or ? I have had it on my 120 for a few weeks now and seem like it works well. Lights up fast and no flicker. Should I start investing in a backup set? Should I borrow a Par meter to see what type of reedings I'm getting? Thanks

Just curious, what's the wiring to the screw in the third picture down? Must be ground but doesn't the cord supply ground?

The guy that ripped me off (bought over the net). He said a electrician at work wired it? So not really sure why it's wired this way. What brand would you guys suggest I buy? I could always use this one as a back-up.

For ballasts I like IceCap and Lumatek.

almost looks like a CoralVue ballast

actually looking around the coralvue ballasts will say vue technology

look up ocean ballasts those are the ones that came with your unit and they now are black but the older ones were that color blue also. but I can't guarantee anything.

Thanks for doing some research. I have looked and looked with nothing. The best match is a no name Chinese knock-off. Everything is from china now days so maybe it's ok? I think I will buy two IceCaps and use this one as a backup. Thanks again

icecaps are made in korea just so you know. so not china but still asia lol.

either way I love my icecap 660 and 430 ballasts
