DOC Skimmer 9010**FUSTRATED

Well my 9010 came in on the 24 or 23 of December. I placed it in sump for 5 days ran it non-stop and NO FOAM whats so ever. I have the bottom with the suction cups on it. Its sitting in my sump, water inlet is wide open, air control button/screw is wide open, heck I took it off completely and no foam, bubbles, nothing, Nada.
If its sitting in my sump then the water doesn't have to be all the way up to the water line. I see a small steady (very light) stream overflowing onto the blue foam cartridge. Currently the water is about an inch below the water marker on the tunze skimmer. Whats going on??? HELP

How am I suppose to do that??? Isn't the air line tube in the inside of the unit? How do I open it with out damaging the product?

You will need to open it for service periodically, it is covered in the manual how to open it, the bottom cover slides out and the pump is removable. The pump is probably not connected to the airline or it is pinched, it sounds like you have everything else correct, you should get just a trickle of water over the outlet tube.

Ok, will try again once I get home. Hope this is the case. Will post again and let everyone know whats the outcome. Thank You,
Eric

UPDATE.
Ok I finally got into the Tunze 9010 and removed the pump. Sure enough the tubing had fallen out. I placed it back in place and after I put it all back together and into the sump it stopped working again. So I put it back together again and now its bubbling like crazy.
I took the blue screw out completely cause, yes theres a lot of foam, but its not coming over into the collection cup. Maybe half way up.
I guess I will give it a few more days so it can break in.
So is this common???

It generally needs a week to break in. Often too much air is just as likely to impede skimming as not enough. I would put the screw in and close it all the way and back it out 3 turns.

Yes, I can get you one, I have them in stock but the ones I have are white, the blue is the new color and I don't yet have them as a spare part.

Ok, so I have had the skimmer running in my sump since 06 JAN 2007. I have the sliding door in the bottom wide open. I have adjusted the blue screw accordingly, just a s mentioned in these previous posts. I have run it wide open and yet I can't get the skimate to go over into the collection cup. I see lots of bubbles, but it never rises over the top into the collection cup. Any suggestions. I know there is plenty to skim, cause my other skimmer in this sump is pick up lots of crud. BUMMER

Check out this post and the post that immediately follows it. It contains a link to some pics that show how the skimmer should be assembled. Basically, I suspect you either don't have the pump mounted correctly (with the outlet from the pump snug in the reaction chamber), or there is something off with your water level. You need to have the solid plastic piece on the bottom (not the one with vents), and have to have the riser tube mounted appropriately to ensure the water is at the right level. Check out the post for other details and some pics:

Is water exiting the outlet pipe? If you are running 2 skimmers that generally doesn't work to well unless both are identical and as far apart as possible.
