The one Acanthurus lineatus I had back in the 80s ago liked especially my red macro algae - and I had quite a few nice ones.
It just took him about a week or two to discover how tasty they were and then it just took him a day to finish them all off for good.

So, If I were in your place, I would be prepared to lose them or evacuate them to a safe place. It's just a matter of time until he will discover them.

+1. Have very nearly lost multiple macros to my tang and blenny, had to regrow from a piece I found in my sump.
One of the local guys has nemostoma in his 300 and his range would devour it if he didn't cage it.

well in two weeks he still has not touch the red micro algae and I keep feeding him seaweed and brine shrimp. he is like a hoover and eats everything but not my nice 2 red micro algae for now lol.

I would enrich his diet with more food than just seaweed and brine shrimp. Brine have little nutritional value.

Nice looking Rhodophyte!

yes very true to give them more diverse food, I,am now trying Julian purple and red weed then some pellets so hopefully it will be enough. the brine shrimp are fresh as I breed my own so full of spirulina so full of good protein IMO.
