I bought some Calcium, Iodine and Stronium etc- reef additives for my corals and I am wondering will The carbon package I have on my filter remove these? I already took out the Activated Carbon before I added my doses, as well as shut off my skimmer for a while. I know the skimmer will pull the iodine but what about the calcium etc? Thanks!

The skimmer pulls out skimmate. Whether or not it pulls out additives is yet to be seen and unless someone has the free time to find out whats in skimmate i dont think its a big issue.

I had an aqua c remora and anytime i dosed with calc or phyto it went crazy and started filling up.

There are some studies of the contents of skimmate, if you want to do some research, and also articles on how skimming works.

I dont Run a skimmer but i use carbon. I love how carbon keeps my water. And i add alot of supps. everything is workin and looks fine.

Note... ive read you should turn off a skimmer before you feed and add supps.

good luck
