please help i need to kill it.

Different, that's for sure! Possibly a type of caulerpa, it looks like it has runners that it spreads with, though its very delicate looking. Maybe something like caulerpa elongata? Can you pull a piece off the rock intact that shows its growth structure well?

I feel your pain! I had this feathery crap a long time ago. We had to pull the rocks, scrub them with a toothbrush, then kept them in total darkness for a month, only removing the cover for water changes. It will spread all over your tank and unless you get every single vine/runner it will come back. I had always hoped that I was the only one that had this plague. :(

easy kill

I have collected before and after pics of that exact same macro being easily killed with peroxide in our giant peroxide thread in the nanos forum, takes about a week to wipe out.

nanos forum, pico reef pest algae problem challenge thread, from what I can remember its on or about pages 8-12 I think somewhere in there

Caulerpa Verticillata

Caulerpa Verticillata

Just got Live Rock from Gulf Live rock and has Caulerpa Verticillata all over it. I didn't know what it was until I had introduced all of the live rock into the tank to start my cycle. What to do now???

???? I didn't post this ????

ROFL. Its most likely a script (adware etc). Run adaware and then malwarebytes. Just pay attention during the installation, sometimes they like to tack extra programs on during the installation.

You need to change ALL your passwords AFTER you remove the malicious script. All passwords meaning you bank account, email, anything that requires you to input a password.

Sorry for hijacking this. Back to algae..... :fish1: :fish2:
