Instant Ocean salt in the 160 gal. bucket has a MUCH lower alk than the 200 gal. boxes?

This is the 3rd time I have purchased a 200 gallon box and had the KH around 13 dKH while all of the buckets of IO have been consistently around 9.4

I too would be very niterested in knowing this. I had been buying the buckets for a year or so and recently went to the boxed IO.

I didnt know this! Course, I'm in the process of switching to OceanPure, but I have to admit, I have a 160 gal bucket of IO that I had been using and my KH has been around 13 consistently.

Dunno...maybe a different plant manufactures the bucket as opposed to the box, thus giving you different batches...

Just a thought...but heres a bump anyway

not sure but i do know some mix up bucket good, like emptying it into another bucket back and forth a few times. whatever causes this, i read, settles to bottom.
