Does anyone own a rainbow bubble tip anemone?

Fwiw, I don't care for them as they are probably from China. Are you talking about the green/pink ones? A couple years ago, there was a huge influx of green based roses found in China. The ones that are on the market today are overpriced. I just laugh when I see them going for over $300 and being called "rainbow". I always thought rainbow meant more than two colors?:)

Lol

Lol

There is a reef forum where this seems to be going on alot. Bubbletips that come in with wacky colors are being routinely sold for 200 or more.

Its unreal, i feel bad if someone buys it.

This is why people dont last in the hobby.

Where the heck do you find BTAs like that? If you know where to get a nem like that for $50 I'll take 3 tonight!

I was specifically looking at the yellow/red/green combo. I could really go for one of those!

Well I didn't buy this BTA at a LFS but rather on-line, nor did I pay some outrageous price for it. I bought this as a RBTA from one of the bigger on-line retailers. When I got it, it was a smile bleached lacking any color nem, after working with the retailer I received 50 percent of my money back making this very cheap. Its came a long way in 7 months and continues to color up nicely. As far as the spectacular pics you see on-line a lot is creative lighting and great camera work.

Here are two pics taken three days apart, one under atincs when it was deflated, and another under halides just to show how different the colors can look. Is this a rainbow, i have no clue but I like it:rollface:

Not too shabby considering it's start. Every now and then nems have a way of going from near dead to prize collector items just by giving them the right conditions. I got a sebae for $10 from a friend that was bleach white and the size of a half dollar. The tentacles were so short my wife said they looked like eyeballs! Now it's gorgeous, and my 3rd fav nem. (I have 20 lol)
