does ca and alk matter to fish?

While performing hyposalinity/quarantine to a fish, does keeping proper ca and alk levels matter? I notice that when I mix salt water for water change at 1.009 the alk and ca levels are really low.

They are of no value to fish during QT. PH is important and this tends to drop with lower salinity, so keep an eye on it and do whatever you need to do to increase it if necessary.

The calicum level does not matter much. But, pH is important and ph and alkalinity are related so I would monitor both of these.

Whats the easiest way to control ph and alk?

Can I add somthing like Randy's alk solution to correct the ph and alk levels?
