Does my RBTA look alright?

I picked this RBT anemone up from a friend who was taking his tank down.. It had split in the past and I also got the split (gave it to my father).

Now the first week this thing was doing great, my clowns instantly hosted with it, and have not left it since.. (friend had (2) full grown clowns hosting in it prior)

after about a week i woke up to it hidden upside in the back which i have read can be normal.. after 6 days he finally came back topside however, after about 12 hours he again went to the back of the tank in the same spot..

Things to consider:

Tank: 55Gal (No sump yet) 6+ months old.

- Lights - 48" 3W LED Bar (32 Leds) 4k+ Lumens

- Wife surprised me with what was sold to her as a "long tentacle" however, it appears its a condy anemone.. it went in the tank the same day as the RBTA and they haven't really had any run ins?

- Parameters
PH - 7.8 - 8.0

Nitrite- 0
Nitrate - 0 - 5.0ppm

Dose
5ml - Purple Up - every other day
API Essential Reef Supplement - 20ml 1x per week

Anything I should do different? Does he look alright?

Welcome to reef central.

Looks fine to me. They will take a while to get comfortable and stay in a place they like. Condy is not a good addition as they are known to eat clowns/fish IMO. No one really knows why they will bubble at the tips in some tanks and not others.

And as for your supplements I would not use the purple up if it was me. Are you checking your calcium and other levels? If you just keep your calcium up you dont really need the purple up from what I've read. I tried it years ago with no difference to just maintaining calcium that is a lot cheaper. Dosing purple up all the time with nothing to consume I will lead to your calcium skyrocketing. I'm sure your aware but it's best to test and dose accordingly for cal alk and mag instead of just dosing what the bottle says. All tanks are different and consume it either rapidly or not enough to supplement other than your water changes. Good luck on your new RBTA looks like the clowns are stoked LOl.

Oh and the tang police will def comment on the hippo in a 55 gal. Tank is def too small to have a hippo in. Good luck on that one. You've been warned LOL.

Thanks for the comments everyone.

As far as the tang is concern, I know, but to each there own! I am sure people have tossed a tang into something smaller.. Plus my little guy is Tiny, and a new tank/sump is coming soon. :)

Does it appear that he is big enough to possibly split again here soon?

As far as splitting, some rbtas stay kinda small around 6'' to 8'' and split often. Some will get big,I had one that was 14'' across before it split.

+1. Looks fine to me too. They might move around the first couple of weeks until it finds a nice spot. It shouldn't move again unless you change anything. (flow, salinity, lighting, etc.)

PM me if you have any questions. I have alot of experience with BTAs
