Does RO Resin go bad in the sealed bag?

While changing my RO resign I noticed the new bag looked brown rather than the normal blue? Is it ruined or still OK to use?

Is it a different brand?
My Aquatic Life resin is brown, not blue.

It is typically blue if you bought the bulk color changing resin from BRS.

I got a bag in that was mostly brown one time. Didn't think anything of it other then perhaps they changed the color. Used it fine for the normal time frame I usually get out of a canister.

Di Resins come in two different colors, Blue or green. They will all change colors when they are depleted, usually to a rust or clear brownish color. As for DI in a bag, try to seal it air tight as they will go back if in contact with the air. Reason is that the air always has some kinda humidity and it contains water which the resin will absorb. If the bag or resin container is sealed. what ever moister is in that container will only stay in the sealed container.

I bought three bags from BRS. The first two were blue as normal but this one is brown. I usually sit the bags on top of my hot water heater which gets warm but not hot. Maybe that was the cause??

That could be the issue. If you want to place things on top of a water heater, try adding a 1" foam board cut to shape then place things on top. When did you purchase the resins? Maybe contact BRS and see if they would replace it?
