Does size matter with calcium reactors?

2 questions.

First, I want to eventually upgrade my tank so I want to buy equipment for my current tank that will fit for my next one. Anyway, I am looking at a GEO 624 reactor. Will this be ok for my 90 now and then 225-280 later?

Second, I've been told that peristaltic pumps are almost necessary to properly run a reactor. I'd prefer to use a maxi jet and a micro ball valve or an aqualifter or equilivant, do I HAVE to go with peristaltic?

Thanks!

The worst case scenario would be that you replace or add to the media more often. Maybe every six months, rather than nine months (that's just a guess as there are a lot of factors involved in an accurate timeframe).

As far as feeding the reactor, I would just tap off the return or a closed loop and control with a ball valve. Why add another power consuming item to the electric bill.

ok, great, thanks Hop. This is what I was hoping. I'm not 100% on how reactors work (cause I don't have one yet) so I wasn't sure if the media needed to be used up at a certain rate or somthing of the like.

Thanks again,
