Does these work?

Thinking about getting something like these and putting them in a media reactor and running it for a week or so when a move everything over to new tank. Any input would help. Just in case I get a small cycle.

Hey Matt I have used the nitrates sponge and it worked good also you can run a poly filter to keep out a lot of contaminates
