Does your SPS tank get some direct sunlight?

I mean from behind. My tank seems clear when the tank lights are on, but when direct sunlight shines though from behind, I can see a cloudy mist. It's about the size of wheat flour.

This is quite random but I'm hoping someone else has also seen this. I know aggressive water changes will remove it but I'm wondering if I'm alone here. I'm curious to know if this affects your SPS.

That's interesting. I assumed 'Fiji crystal clear water' was important for acropora, but after seeing some actual YouTube footage of natural SPS reefs, the water was always ever so slightly turbid. That might have just been because of low res footage.

Do you think some SPS reefers freak out at the sight of slight turbidity and carry out measures for clarity for no reason?

I am not sure about your second question, but I will say this.... My tank gets light from behind but the back is painted black, so light pierces the sides of the tank and I have seen the same haziness you mentioned. During regular lights its fine, I thought of it as food for my sps and haven't worried too much about it.

My tank doesn't get hit by light from the back but it does take a little on the sides as well and its absolutely fine.

If you dont have nuisance algae, I wouldn't worry about it. Do you run carbon? I dont have the haziness you speak of.
