Dog Face Puffer

Hello all, my wife clearly wants to get a dog face puffer (we have two labs), the only drawback is we hear that they are best in tanks above 120 gallons.. As this is my first tank we are thinking of a 75. Is it still possible to get one and if it gets to a point it is too big for the tank to attempt to sell it?
Remember I am just starting out and trying to learn as much as possible.

You should get fish for the tank you have, and not fish that will outgrow the tank. You will get attached to your fish (especially a puffer) and will not want to get rid of them later.

Do not get the fish. As mentioned above, get fish that will grow to fit your tank. What if he gets too big, and you cannot get rid of him. I have seen LFS not accept fish b/c they are too big and most hobbyist don't like buying fish too big. So I would not recommend getting the puffer.

Man, if you haven't set up a tank yet, just go get a 120+. Really not that much different than a 75, bigger obviously and a touch more work. But then you can get the fish your wife wants and not have to upgrade later, which costs more.

It took my dogface about 12 months to outgrow an 80 gallon, they also can't be kept with a lot of fish because of personality, and they will snack on any corals you try to put in the tank. Because of their energy level I wouldn't recommend anything less than 180 for Arothron.
