dogface puffer question

So my LFS has one of these and its about an inch long.. Could I put it in my BC 14 for a few months and take it to college with me without it growing up too much? I have a 40 gal at home I can put it in when it gets any bigger. Also, what CUC would I be able to keep with one?

Even a 40 gallon is much too small for a dogfaced puffer. I would not recommend it.

they do grow pretty fast, though I've never seen one just an inch long. are you sure it's a dogface? I'd say you could grow it up in a 40 (maybe a 29 at first) - I don't think I'd try one in a BC 14.

Yea, it is a dog face. But I decided just to get a clownfish for my girlfriend. And I think i'm gonna get a pompom crab and some shrimp so she feels better about it being all alone. lol. Thanks for the info guys.
