Doing some research on Maximas -

In the future I plan on hosting a Maxima Clam in my standard 90g tank. Here is my lighting:

2 - 48" 110w VHO Super Actinics 8 inches from the water
2 - 48" 110w VHO Aquasun 8 inches from the water
2 - 250w Ushio 10k MH's 10 inches from the water

Will I be able to put a maxima at the bottom of the tank in a 90g?

Thanks
John

Shouldn't be a problem, I run less light than what you propose (I have 2-250w AB 10k MH's 12" from the water surface & only 2-55w actinic PC's) on a standard 55g which is 20" in height & I am able to keep my 3 Maximas, Crocea, Derasa & Squamosa on a .5" sandbed. I do however have my Maximas & Crocea attached to a small flat piece of live rock rubble but my Derasa & Squamosa are just sitting on the sand bed with no attachments.

It would work but I dont think youl need the 2 VHO aqua suns.....the two 250 halides will have plenty of juce and then some......i would go with some extra actinics instead..or just save the electricity and heat and go with the 2 actinics and halides....oh are the 250's SE or DE? a lot eepends on what look your trying to get. 4 actinc VHO's and two 10k ushios would have a nice look to it......depends on your eye ball and taste....
