I think I am the winner that you are looking for. I just joined a couple of weeks ago and made it to my first meeting and was lucky enough to win. Thanks so much, it is in my 46 gallon and appears to be doing well. So do I wait until it doubles in size and split it or will it produce smaller ones around it? Thanks again!!!
Either way trumbo. If you do split it though, wait to make sure the frags make it so you don't get stuck with a frag that dies and you gave away a good one or it dies too.
Do not split this frag. I have seen it done and all pieces died. To accelerate growth you might place one cut with a razor blade from the center of the mouth to one edge. These will encourage the ricordia to split sooner and is safer to propagate this coral.
BTW, this coral routinely sells for $20 plus. So I think you got your dues worth.
