Dont know anything???

I would like to get a camera for taking close-ups of my coral and fish. I do not know anything about cameras. I have a Olympus stylus tough right now and it takes crappy close-ups. I have been reading and I know I want a DSLR, just dont know what one. I dont need the best just something that I can get some good clear close-ups. Whats a good starter and how much do I need to spend?

You can probably go used and get a decent "used" DLSR body around 400 bucks, for a decent used macro lens for about 250 to 300. Picking a brand is up to you. Go to a camera store and figure out what's comfortable to you.

Great advice from Misled. And you'll definitely have to get a macro lens. The 2 lenses we have for our DSLR won't take closeups at all, it's very frustrating LOL.
