i had water up and running for about 1 month now and i have 2 damsles and about 20 hermit crabs i put 20 asstrea snails in but they all died for some reason so i tested the water and it read 0 across the board i dont know wahts up with the cycle i havnt seen an amonia spike yet do you think i missed it? or is the tank not cycled yet

Can you tell us anymore about your tank and setup? Do you have any rock, sand, filters. What are you testing and with what kits

i have 60# of base rock and 40# of live rock with 140 pounds of sand on the bottom i tested for ammonia nitetrite and nitrate the tank is a 90g and is a little more than a month old since i put water sand and rocks

What process did you use when adding the snails?

If you stick your hand in the water does it shock you? NO DON'T DO THAT!!!!! Test for stray electricity.

I know this is a dumb question but are you using fresh or salt water test kits?

What kind of tank do you want to have? What are you trying to keep?

Salifert test kits give you precise readings. If you aim at corals, those are a good thing to have.

You should be testing (again, Salifert) for nitrite, nitrate, and ammonia. These cycle back and forth. If you're not seeing algae and your snails are dead, this is not good.

You're in the right place for advice. We just need some tests to go on: Fill in the following: I know you've provided part of it, but let's be thorough.
Temperature:
Salinity:
Alkalinity:
Ph:
Nitrite:
Nitrate:
Ammonia:

Gallons:
Age of tank:
Sump?
Skimmer? type?
refugium?
downflow? type?
Lighting type?
Live rock?
Live sand?
Sand type (aragonite, crushed coral, etc.)
pump (brand and size)
Type of tank intended to be: [lps, sps, combination, fish only]

On any questions which make no sense to you, just put a question mark. If you know you don't have a particular item, put: don't have.

This will let the experts work on your problem and speed an answer for your situation.

This article discusses all the water parameters:

Some of your parameters might need some work.

Not seeing any ammonia is not all that uncommon if the live rock is very clean. I wouldn't worry too much about that. You could try adding a bit of fish food each day for a few days to see whether the ammonia spikes. If not, your filtration is set for adding new animals slowly. Other water parameters might be an issue, though.
