So, as some of you know, I took over about 10 tanks to maintain from my mom working with the Seahorse. I got a call Tuesday from the Seahorse saying that somebody wanted us to come and tear down the tank, and I could keep whatever I wanted to from the system. I was expecting to take it all in to the Seahorse and just split the money they could sell it for with them, or maybe keep the 75 gallon tank....but................................................................................................................................................................
It turns out that it was a pretty decent reef tank. It was set up by the guys that are now in prison for dealing with different kind of reefers than us (well, at least most of us:bounce3
. It was running 4x65w PC lighting (eh) in a Coralife fixture, but had a decent assortment of struggling but alive LPS (yay!). It also had 2 K3's (which I had been thinking about getting for myself for christmas) and an ASM G2 skimmer (super yay!). Also kept an assortment of other powerheads, a backup heater, and the Mag 12 utility pump. So for the 2 hours that I spent tearing down this tank, I got more than I would've thought I'd get. All in all, I love this job...and the best part is that I do it on the side to my "real" job.
