Dosage of praziquantel powder?

Hi I am in the process of treating 400 gallons of water for flukes. I have been told two different dosages which vary greatly one is 7.6mg per gallon and the other is 1/4 teaspoon per 40 gallons. If I am doing my math correctly the first one equals 3 grams and the second one equals 10 grams. Could anyone shed some light on this please? Thanks I appreciate it. Tom

Dosage of praziquantel powder?

Where did you get it from? Natnl Fish Pharmaceuticals says 1/4 tsp per 40 gallons and I believe Dmorty had a book stating 1.5mg/l. Humble tested prazi at 2mg/l with success but recommends 2.5mg/l.

At 2.5mg/l it is 3.785 grams for 400 gallons. At a 1/4 tsp per 40 gallons you are getting 10 grams using the sugar conversion. Sugar more than likely weighs a lot more than prazi. I would bet the equations come out to be about the same if you were to weigh 1/4 tsp. Knowing who the manufacturer is will help figure this out.

2.5mg/L is a starting point. I have dosed it at 5mg/L with no issues when dealing with Prazi resistant flukes (still didn't kill the flukes)

Ok yeah I may be dealing with some tough flukes too because I have done 2 doses and it seems like they are lingering around. I wish I could dip them but they are really hard to catch and I don't want to stress them out too much. Any other ideas? Thanks

Really you dose it in DT with live rock without issue? Same dosage it recommends? Never used it what does it kill ? Thanks
