dosing additives for soft corals

Hi, sorry the search facility is down but can someone point me to any threads regarding products used for dosing tanks containing softies. Any comments here would be appreciated too. I currently change 15% per month of a 230litre system but have only started building up my soft coral collection. Is water changing enough?

Water changes are all I do and my softies are thriving. I think some people will add iodine to their tank, but I don't believe there is a reliable test kit, so I don't add it.

No additives above and beyond Ca/dKH and water changes are necessary to keep any of these animals.

I agree with above statements. Additives are unnecessary and a waste of money. Softies are even tolerant of sub-standard Ca/dkH levels.

Depending on the salt, water changing may be enough (such as TM Pro with elevated levels of CA and MG). The only additives I would add are MG, CA and dKH. IMO you need to keep these stable and at near NSW levels even for a softie tank.

I just do small water changes every three to four months and dose kalkwasser.

I didn't believe in additives either until recently. I have a 200g. mixed reef, mostly sps. I do have about 5 large softies, devils hand, sinularia, 2 toadstools and one finger type softy. They were all very large and doing well. They had actually grown to there fullest potential. They got very large and then stayed the same size for over a year. Just for kicks I bought a bottle of Seachem reef complete -amino vitamin supplement. I bought it because Tracy Gray(tank of the month a few years ago and in the book Ultimate Marine Aquariums), said that he had good results with it for his softies. I started adding it to my tank and I kid you not, my already huge softies grew about another 15-20% in under 2 months. I couldn't believe it. Non of my other corals changed a bit but the softies loved it.
Just my experience. Other than that, don't believe in additives.
