Dotty Backs and Gobies

I have an orchid dotty back in my reef tank. Tonight I got a sharknose goby (impulse buy) and tried to add him to the tank. He totally went into the dotty backs cave and got his *** beat. I had to move him to a smaller tank. My question is can I add him to the tank again but in another area? I understand that the orchids can be aggressive with their area and I am hoping this was the problem. Thoughts? And yes I am direct the impulse buy was stupid. I was their for pajama cardinals and got side tracked by a shiny object. It happens.

How big is the tank?

Its in his sig :)

Is the orchid farm raised or wild? Farm seems to be more mellow. Either case beautiful fish but needs to be with others who can hold their own. Buy an acclimation box its worth it imo.

I owned a orchid great fish but most of the fish I kept were either larger or different color except for neon goby who was in before the orchid.

Thanks for the reply. All the other fish are bigger which may be the problem. The orchid is farm/tanked raise. I moved the goby to our ten gallon and he is fine. Problem is it's my wife's tank and she didn't want him.

P. fridmani is the least aggressive dottyback. However, still not a pussycat even if tank bred and raised. The smaller the tank, the more this becomes an issue.
