After reading everything I could on this subject I have come to the conclusion that the "Flake" that is 77-80% is the good stuff. Also according to the lot #s on the bags I have they were manufactured in 08/06 Before the 12/06 cut off. Anyone who is interested in picking up any bags contact me ASAP I will be purchasing several bags for myself to stockpile. The 50lb Bags are $25. each I know a place that has a pallet of them but they wont last long . This stuff is gonna be worth its weight in gold soon...

I will pick up on wends. so get on board if you want them... So far i have ine bag for each:
Drbronx
Bobtail
Piazzon
Money can be paid when you pick them up from me.

Are you gonna be around during the day on friday morning? I would like to pick it up between like 8am and say 10am. I want to stop when I am working and am in the area. I just want to make sure that I say THANK YOU for going out of your way to get this for us all... Thanks

Jeremy

The removal of Bromide from DOWFLAKE was 2005 not 2006. According to the press release Dow made in August 2005 nothing produced after December 31, 2005 will have the Bromide removed. What are the lot numbers on the bags? That may tell us if they have the new impurity profile or not.

According to the person I talked to yesterday from DOW CHemical the discontuation of the bromide removal step was supposed to be 12/2005 but was pushed back to 12/2006 That infomation came from In house techs. and chenmists. I explained why it was important to make sure the bromides were not in the formulations They assured me the New stuff was not make till 12/2006 a year later than planned and that the Calcium cloride content was 83% in the new stuff. The Bags I have were manufactured in 08/2006 and is 77-80%--- The old stuff.

Well Prices tend to increase wehn the demand does. I paid $22.99+ tax for them

but the demand didnt increase for the product. they still make it, and stores who sell the product still sell it, there would be no such demand for it in the pure form we need it in, because what it is sold as is purly an ice melting agent mostly for tractor tires. unless you got it form some fish store who are asses that marked the price up. im not saying that you got it for cheeper but that would have to have been the normal price for the product because there would be no basis for the demand to go up and inturn for the price to go up, unless it was from a fish store of some sorts.

The price goes up the colder it gets and when it snows it goes up even higher. You want it cheep...find it in the summer.
